Smile Makeover to treat crowding of teeth
This smile make-over case presented us with several problems. Firstly there was significant crowding of teeth. Then there was a significant overjet (upper teeth much further forward than lower teeth) and finally the teeth were of uneven shape and shade.
The ideal treatment plan would be to correct the overjet and crowding with orthodontics (either conventional or invisalign) and then address the issue of shade and shape by placing veneers/crowns on the teeth. However, this treatment would take approximately two years to complete.
After discussion with the patient, it was decided not to persue the orthodontic option and to correct the crowding and alignment of teeth with crowns alone. This would not provide an ideal result but an improvement of the current situation. The treatment time would also be reduced to approximately 6 weeks.
