Stained and discoloured teeth can now be made brighter and whiter with teeth whitening in Birmingham, UK.

Unfortunately with age our teeth can become yellowish. They become stained from tea, coffee, smoking or drinking fizzy drinks and red wine. Your dull and discoloured teeth can make you look older and can affect your confidence in your smile.

By having professional teeth whitening treatment, at Acorn Dental we can help you to get rid of stained or yellow teeth, and the treatment can be completed in as little as one hour.

Our teeth whitening treatment is a simple and effective way to improve your smile and appearance. It gives a brighter, whiter and more attractive smile and priced from £395, it is affordable for everyone.

What is teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening or dental bleaching is a safe, effective and inexpensive way to whiten and brighten the colour of your teeth. The procedure involves wearing a custom-made tray that fits over your teeth into which the special bleaching solution is placed. The tray is usually worn during the night, although it can be worn during the day if desired.

Types of Teeth Whitening:

There are two kinds of whitening treatments:

  • In-Office Light-Activated whitening (“laser whitening”)
  • Home whitening

Acorn Dental provides an effective whitening treatment that will transform your smile within 2-4 weeks only.

About Enlighten Whitening

Enlighten Teeth Whitening is an effective treatment that safely and successfully achieves a lighter shade for your teeth (B1). This is the same for everyone whatever their present tooth colour, lifestyle, age or dietary habits. Some other facts associated with the treatment are:

  • It is a painless procedure
  • It features a soothing anti-sensitivity serum
  • It avoids gingival irritation and dehydration that can be an effect of laser whitening
  • It uses lower concentrations of bleaching gel when compared to other treatments

About the Enlighten teeth whitening procedure

The three steps involved in the Enlighten teeth whitening process are:

Step one: During the consultation, we will create an impression of your teeth that will then be sent to the lab. After this, the quality bleaching trays will be customised for you. Then you will use special whitening and strengthening toothpaste for at least two weeks until your trays are ready.

Step two: You will collect the bleaching trays and use them at night with a whitening gel for the next two weeks.

Step three: Your visit to the teeth whitening dentist in Birmingham will last for about 40 minutes. Make sure you bring the whitening trays to get your teeth whitened for a natural, long lasting and even look.

DO – keep a log of the number of nights you have worn the trays, as you will need to repeat this for the lower arch. Keep the whitening agent in a cool place. Stop the process if you have reached the desired level of whitening before the four syringes have been used. Stop the process if you notice any patches or bands appearing on your teeth.

DON’T – Don’t drink tea, coffee or red wine or eat berries, curries or any other foods with intense colouring during treatment and preferably for up to a month following treatment. Don’t smoke during treatment. Don’t bleach your teeth if you are pregnant.

Problems

Sensitivity – this is common and will pass. You can try bleaching on alternate days or place a desensitising toothpaste into the tray and wear for an hour each day. Sore gums – slight gum irritation is normal. If you are experiencing severe discomfort, contact your dentist. Swallowing – the whitening agent is harmless but to avoid ingestion do not overfill the trays. Patches – these will disappear during the whitening process; however notify your dentist if you are concerned.

Frequently Asked Questions

How white will my teeth get?

Enlighten Whitening can whiten teeth up to 16 shades. Results vary, but if used correctly all teeth will whiten dramatically. Natural teeth are rarely ‘too white’. Sometimes very white crowns can look wrong because they are made of porcelain.

Will my crowns, veneers or fillings change colour?

No, but you may want to change some of these after whitening.

Is it safe? Is there any pain?

It is completely safe. The materials used in Enlighten Whitening have been used in dentistry for over 100 years. You may experience some sensitivity, however your dentist will give you easy to use desensitising swabs to take home, which will work immediately. You will also receive a tube of Tooth Serum toothpaste to brush with while you wait for your trays. This also helps with sensitivity.

How long does it take?

Teeth whitening will be complete 2 weeks after your dentist delivers your Enlighten Whitening trays. These are thin and comfortable and must be worn in bed for 14 nights. Then on the 15th day you need to see your dentist for the second treatment, which takes about 40 minutes.

How long does it last?

Results can last indefinitely with some very simple maintenance and wearing the trays for 1 night every other month. Continuing to brush with Tooth Serum will also prolong results.
